When your customers order products using SimpleAAWS 6% of the comissions earned at Amazon go to affilimania.net. It is not 6% of every order but for 6% of the checkouts our affiliate id is used and for 94% yours. How can you check if your associate id is really used at 94% of the checkouts? Actually you could do 100 checkouts to test that but a few tests should be enough. Directly after checkout you can see the used associate id in the adress bar of your internet browser so that you can check which is used. But remember to delete all cookies of your website before every test. Otherwise always the same assiciate id is used. |

To install the standalone application for SimpleAAWS, download the archive from our download section and unpack it on your local computer. When SimpleAAWS is already installed you just have to change the line: define("AAWS_BASE_DIR", '/var/opt/SimpleAAWS'); in the file index.php. The path should be the one there you installed SimpleAAWS on your webserver. Then upload the contents of the unpacked directory into the main or subdirectory of your web presence. Thats it, just SimpleAAWS. Your completed installation should look like this: http://affilimania.net/aaws_app/index.php. |

To install SimpleAAWS you need the following system requirements: - SimpleAAWS is only running with PHP5
- The ioncube loader has to be installed or your webserver should allow dynamic extensions to load the ioncube mudule at runtime. To check if your hosting service is able to run SimpleAAWS yon can download the iocube loader in our dowload section and see if it runs in your environment.
For germany we suggest our partner Alfahosting. For our international customers we suggest our US partner Host Color. Their you can get webspace that is easy to use with CMS- or Blog-Systems like Joomla. At Alfahosting from the Starterpaket on the ioncube loader is included in the hosting packages. This site is also runnig at Alfahosting. On Host Color systems you can easily let activate the ioncube loader by their great support team. |

Download the component and install it normally with the installer in the administration area of your Joomla system. The only thing you have to configure then is the path to your SimpleAAWS installation that you installed beforefollowing the instructions here. |

After downloading the package you unzip the archive to separate directory. To configure your Amazon Affiliate-ID and some other settings you must edit the file aawsconfig.xml in the subdirectory config with a simple text editor of your choice. This file looks like this: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <aawsconfig> <email>sales@affilimania.net</email> <associatetag>affilimaniane-20</associatetag> <sendmail>y</sendmail> <locale>US</locale> <language>en</language> </aawsconfig> In email you enter your email-asdress, in sendmail you decide by typing y or n if you want to get an email when a visitor of your site makes a checkout. In associatetag you define your Amazon Affiliate-ID. In locale you enter, which Amazon country you want to connect with. Possible entries are US, UK, DE, CA, FR uánd JP. At least you define in language the language in the frontend. Standard values in version 1.0 are en or de. Save this file after you have done your configurations. Afterwards you transfer the whole directory to your webserver per FTP/SSH. Thats it, just SimpleAAWS. Possibly you have to check if the webserver has write access to the subdirectory cache. You should not install SimpleAAWS in a directory of your webserver that is publicly accessible. That is not neccessary for running SimpleAAWS. To use SimpleAAWS then you need another component that integrates SimpleAAWS. For now we have a component for Joomla and a standalone application. Components for ohter popular CMS systems follow. You find the components in our download section. |
